Configuring Apple Mail Server with G Suite Account

Step 1: Select Your G Suite Account

In the Outgoing Mail Account menu of Apple Mail, select your G Suite account. You can do this by clicking on 'Accounts' in the top window and then selecting 'Edit SMTP Server List.'

In the same window as step 5, click on the 'Account Information' tab (in Mail v10, the 'Server Settings' tab). Select your former SMTP server if it's listed, and click the '-' sign below that window.

Confirm that 'Never' is selected under 'Sent,' 'Junk,' and 'Trash.' This will ensure that your emails are stored on the server instead of being deleted or moved to a different folder.

Step 4: Check Mailbox Behaviors

Select the 'Mailbox Behaviors' tab in Apple Mail. Confirm that the following settings are enabled:

* Store draft messages on the server

* Store sent messages on the server

* Store junk messages on the server

* Move deleted messages to the Trash mailbox

* Store deleted messages on the server

Step 5: Set Up IMAP and SMTP Servers

Select 'IMAP' as your account type in Apple Mail. Type in your incoming mail server and outgoing mail server addresses. Enter your U-Mail address (in the user name field) and select the '+' sign to add a new email account.

Step 6: Configure Account Settings

Enter your full name, email address, and UCSBnetID password. Note that using your regular password will not configure your account properly.

Step 7: Verify IMAP Access

In the 'IMAP Access' section of Apple Mail, select 'Enable IMAP' if needed.
